We have a lot of family events. Every time we have one the kids always tell me to bring the shrimp dip. I got this recipe from my mother many years ago. It is quick and easy to make and if you love shrimp dip this is a real keeper!
1 8 oz. package cream cheese (softened)
1 small can of tiny shrimp
3 tablespoons Miracle Whip Salad Dressing ( you can use mayo)
3 tablespoons finely chopped onion
3 tablespoons lemon juice (or to taste)
2 teaspoons dill weed (or to taste)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Mix all ingredients in a medium size bowl with a hand mixer until smooth and well mixed. Refrigerate until used. This recipe is better made a few hours earlier than when you want to eat it. It gives the flavors time to mix and make the dip have a richer taste. However, you can surely eat it right away and still enjoy it. It is great with chips or crackers and I’ve even made tea sandwiches out of it. You can also double or triple this recipe for larger crowd.
It keeps well in the refrigerator for about a week if kept covered tightly.
