    This isn’t a chili. Americans can’t cook.

Chili can include beef, pork, venison, fish, chicken, raccoon, horse, squirrel, goose, onions, peppers, cabbage, mushrooms, beans, lentils, tomatoes, carrots, ketchup, red wine, stale beer, coffee grounds, gunpowder, sawdust, whiskey, vinegar, used motor oil, gunpowder or crushed Doritos. The way to make chili is the way YOU like to eat it. Not the way someone lectures you about.

I am watching this on a 60-inch television. If you use a potato masher to break down that hamburger you are going to have nothing but sawdust. I have done it and I ended up with meat that was like sawdust and dry. It sucked. I'm vegan now and I use a very good hamburger substitute and my chili is still better than half of those that compete. 🙂

Any chili cooked in a smoker like that is going to taste file better than something cooked on the stove in the house!

No beans, dark chocolate, fresh onions and coffe…… how is that a competition if you leave out main ingredients?

This is more a „chili for dummies“ just mixing some powders with your meat…..

As delicious as this looks, I didn't realize the competitive chili scene was so limited.

Its like a soup competition but your only allowed to make a broth.

I don't really understand the point of a "champion" chili if you cant add half the shit that makes chili good!?

Sorry to be that guy, but…
Ghee is actually the Indian name for clarified butter. It's not grease, oil, or shortening.

Im a white Canadian who randomly started adding a bit of cinnamon and even less clove to my Chilies, Beef based pasta's, and Beef Stew .
Except with the stew I add more clove and the tiniest amount of cinnamon (compared to other spices I add). But it makes a difference and people have said my versions of food taste different and they like it.
Honestly, anybody should. The additional variations on what you are used to really change your life, I love the phrase "variety is the spice of life" well spices are literally variety and I'm not afraid to throw in a small pinch of something weird to throw peoples senses off (without making it any worse than their standard versions of those foods).
